BS English – First Semester
The first semester of the BS English program is designed to build foundational academic, linguistic, and critical thinking skills. It introduces students to key disciplines and equips them with essential tools for success in higher education and English studies.
Course Overview:
GC101 – Study Skills (3 Cr Hrs): A compulsory course aimed at developing effective study techniques, time management, academic reading, and note-taking strategies.
GC102 – Introduction to Geography (3 Cr Hrs): A general course providing basic knowledge of physical and human geography, enhancing students’ understanding of global environments and cultures.
GC103 – Pakistan Studies (2 Cr Hrs): A compulsory subject that covers the historical, political, and cultural evolution of Pakistan, promoting civic awareness and national identity.
ELL101 – English I: Reading and Writing Skills (3 Cr Hrs): A foundational course focused on improving academic reading comprehension and developing clear, coherent writing.
ELL102 – Introduction to Literary Studies (3 Cr Hrs): Offers a basic introduction to literary genres, key concepts, and critical approaches, laying the groundwork for advanced literary analysis.
