BS English – Third Semester
The third semester of the BS English program enhances students’ linguistic, literary, and technological skills while fostering global cultural awareness. Emphasis is placed on communication, literary analysis, and foundational linguistic structures.
Course Overview:
GC201 – Introduction to Information & Computer Technology (ICT) Skills (2+1 Cr Hrs): A foundational course that introduces essential ICT tools and skills for academic and professional use, with practical training in basic software applications.
GC202 – Islamic History & Culture (3 Cr Hrs): Explores key events, personalities, and contributions of Islamic civilization, enriching students’ understanding of cultural heritage and historical development.
GC203 – Global Poetry (3 Cr Hrs): A general course examining poetry from diverse cultures and periods, encouraging cross-cultural appreciation and critical interpretation of poetic forms and themes.
ELL201 – English III: Communication and Presentation Skills (3 Cr Hrs): Focuses on enhancing verbal and non-verbal communication, public speaking, and presentation techniques essential for academic and professional contexts.
ELL202 – Short Fictional Narratives (3 Cr Hrs): Introduces students to short stories from various literary traditions, fostering analytical and interpretive skills through close reading and discussion.
