Doctor of Pharmacy – Third Professional Year (3rd Year)
The third professional year of the Pharm.D program focuses on disease mechanisms, drug therapy, natural product research, and the expanding role of pharmacists in healthcare systems and technology.
Theory Subjects:
Pathology – Introduces the basic principles of disease processes, helping students understand how diseases affect the body.
Pharmacology and Therapeutics-II – Builds upon previous pharmacology knowledge, emphasizing drug therapy for specific disease states.
Pharmacognosy-II (Advanced) – Advances the study of medicinal plants, phytochemistry, and natural product drug discovery.
Pharmacy Practice-II (Dispensing, Community, Social & Administrative Pharmacy) – Explores the role of pharmacists in community settings, patient counseling, healthcare systems, and pharmacy management.
Pharmaceutical Chemistry-III (Pharmaceutical Analysis) – Focuses on qualitative and quantitative analysis of pharmaceutical substances, ensuring drug quality and safety.
Pharmacy Practice-VIII (Computer and its Applications in Pharmacy) – Introduces computer applications in pharmaceutical practice, including data handling, inventory management, and electronic health records.
Practical Subjects:
Laboratory training in pathology, advanced pharmacology, pharmacognosy, dispensing, pharmaceutical analysis, and pharmacy informatics strengthens practical competence and problem-solving skills.
