Doctor of Pharmacy – Second Professional Year (2nd Year)

The second professional year of the Pharm.D program expands the scientific and clinical knowledge base, introducing students to essential pharmaceutical disciplines and preparing them for patient-centered care.

Theory Subjects:

Pharmaceutics-II (Dosage Forms Science) – Focuses on the design, formulation, and evaluation of pharmaceutical dosage forms.

Pharmacology and Therapeutics-I – Introduces the basic principles of pharmacology and the therapeutic uses of drugs.

Pharmacognosy-I (Basic) – Covers the study of medicinal plants, natural sources of drugs, and their pharmacological significance.

Pharmaceutics-III (Pharmaceutical Microbiology & Immunology) – Discusses the role of microbes in pharmacy and fundamentals of immunology in disease prevention and drug development.

Pakistan Studies and Islamic Studies (Compulsory) – Provides understanding of national history, culture, and Islamic values relevant to healthcare ethics.

Pharmacy Practice-I (Pharmaceutical Mathematics and Biostatistics) – Introduces quantitative methods, data analysis, and statistical tools used in pharmaceutical and clinical research.

Practical Subjects:

Practical training in pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmacognosy, and microbiology equips students with hands-on skills necessary for pharmaceutical development and research.
